Hi all - has the geo supplemental file with square footage information been discontinued from production after August 2020? If so, how reliable is the process of calculating POI square footage/area from polygons in the geometry, as detailed in this notebook? The available information seems a bit dated so I was curious as to whether there had been any recent updates or if this was no longer good practice

The Geometry file has not been discontinued, it is just on a slower release schedule.
In short, it is still good practice/reliable. People have had good results if you are using it for a use case that makes sense. The geometries are not going to take into account number of floors and are not survey quality. If you want an approximation of square footage of a large number of places, it works well.
@Jack_Lindsay_Kraken1 Thank you so much for the info! That’s good to know - our organization doesn’t currently have access to the full geometry, but we have the geometry footprint files available. Do you know the release schedules for each of these?
