Do you still offer access to the past social distancing metrics data, even though it is no longer being udpated? We have a research question that using data reported daily would be important.

Hi @Ryan_Hastings - we do not offer access to the Social Distancing Metrics. However, you might check out this resource on how to use Weekly Patterns as a proxy. Could be a good substitute for your use case.

Do you offer any data aggregated daily (not weekly) like the Social Distancing Metrics data used to? And to clarify, you no longer let people access the data that used to be available (even for old dates when it was still being updated)? @Niki_Kaz

Correct - it is not available at all. Our Patterns aggregates on a monthly level (weekly for Weekly Patterns). Not sure if it would suffice your research, but we do have visits_by_day which will give you number of visits to the POI over the selected time range. This will be an array of 7 or 30/31 values depending on weekly or monthly patterns.

We would need data that tell how many people moved from one block group to another on a particular day. These alternatives would not provide that information, like the social distancing metrics data did. Is there perhaps a way to purchase this data or get it from other researchers who are using it? Or what is the reason you no longer give it out? @Niki_Kaz

See the announcement below for more info. It is against our terms of service to share raw data between users so you will not be able to get the data from other members.

Sounds like Neighborhood Patterns might be a good fit, which is a dataset available for purchase. Here’s the page if you want to download a sample:

It’s like our Patterns product but aggregates on a CBG level instead of POI.
